Doyle Lane was an African-American ceramist known for his innovative use of glazes, large-scale clay paintings and mosaics, vases, and beads. Lane’s studio was the El Sereno district of East Los Angeles and he exhibited his work at Brockman Gallery in Leimert Park and Ankrum Gallery on La Cienega Boulevard, both centers for African American Art in Los Angeles in the Mid-20th century. With works in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Huntington Library, among others, Doyle Lane’s work is now highly sought by collectors. All beads and necklaces offered are unused, new old stock from the Estate of Doyle Lane.
