Historic Angelino Heights Estate Sale | Leo Politi Artwork | Nov 16-17, 2019

Earlybird Liquidation is thrilled to host the Historic Angelino Heights Estate Sale featuring work by Leo Politi on Saturday and Sunday, November 16th and 17th, 2019.

The historic district of Angelino Heights, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Los Angeles, is known for its stunning examples of Victorian, Queen Anne and Spanish Revival architecture. Angelino Heights was founded 1886 and was originally connected to downtown by the Temple Street Cable Railway. Many of the stately homes have had period restorations and the area is a mecca for students of Los Angeles history.

The Historic Angelino Heights Estate Sale features art, decor and collectibles inspired by the location of the house. Mission and Spanish Revival and early 1900's decorative arts, pottery and glassware fill the home, as well as unusual historic Los Angeles ephemera and collectibles.

Keeping with the local Los Angeles history, the sale includes many works by artist and author Leo Politi (1908–1996), best known for his children’s books set in post-war Los Angles. He wrote and illustrated more than a dozen, featuring characters such as the wide-eyed, mischievous kids Pancho and Rosa.

Politi was also a prolific painter who drew inspiration from Los Angeles and its many cultural facets. His work was recently exhibited at the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles. Many of his original artworks will be for sale at the estate sale.

The Historic Angelino Heights Estate Sale will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 16th and 17th, 2019. Please sign up on the Earlybird Liquidation email list to be notified when pictures of the items for sale are posted online.
