One of the great things about living in Southern California and Los Angeles is getting to handle original Disney original art and collectibles. We’re pleased to offer a selection of Disney lots in our July 12, 2018 Auction, including original 1958 and 1959 comic art from Arthur Floyd Gottfredson (1905-1986) and Allan ''Al'' Hubbard (1915-1984). We’ve also got a graphic 1959 Disney Mickey Mouse Model Sheet Animation and one of a kind outdoor clock in the shape of Mickey Mouse ears surrounding a Telechron red neon clock! Register to bid here.
Gottfredson was hired as a short-term replacement on the newly lauched Mickey Mouse daily strip in 1930, and then went on to draw the feature for the next 45 years. Gottfredson was honored with the Disney Legends award in 2003 and induction into the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2006.
Al Hubbard was an animator for Disney from 1938 to 1941 and did some non-Disney comics as well (Chip 'n Dale, Scamp, Jiminy Cricket).
